Throughout the summer, we gathered for outdoor performances and now-classic horror films. After health restrictions changed with what is now known as the second wave, we decided to do one performance with no audience and properly capture it. This album both marks the return of the Jazz Destroyers with a new lineup of exceptional musicians in a new city, and the dawn of Chester Copper Pot, a concept that makes no sense on paper, but is compelling, and unlike anything I've ever heard before.

Conceived as a continuation of the #FreeformFridays series from The Jazz Destroyers, expanding the timbral colors with instrumentation never featured, freely improvised. It really makes for remarkable results when you assemble musicians like this to just create without restriction, collaboratively live. This is only possible when, as a musician you not only master your instrument to such a level that you can play any combination of notes in any rhythmic pattern of your desire and the ability to recognize pitch and tonal color by ear, but also develop the empathy to then refocus your attention to those around you, responding to what they're playing. It's a beautifully chaotic experience to make, and experience. 10 channels were recorded continuously live to a multitrack recorder and mixed later. The original 2-hour session was edited for time and quality. Performances were not altered.
