about

Jesse Thunderwake: American Icon released in 2011, played at one Film Festival, and made me swear I'd never produce another film. This project was right before I changed the name from Left Nut Records. Jesse Thunderwake, the character started a web series in 2009 and by 2010, we began work on the feature film. "Let Me Love You (On My Knees)" had already achieved with the music video, during the web series and we produced the soundtrack concurrent with film production. In hindsight, I don't think I slept all that much during those 2 years. The studio is featured heavily in the film. Greg had some songs where he had the lyrics and an idea for the melody, and I was tasked with figuring out where to go with it (Call Me Jesse, The Next Big Star, The Second Coming of Kubrick, and Bitch). Others, I had already produced a music bed prior, and we used those to write other songs (American Icon, I'm Sorry, and Misery).

Almost 15 years later, the production of this album is a blur of a distant memory, but our dark sense of humor is on full display, and likely to not only offend, but alienate just about every single listener at some point along the way. If you fall into that category, I apologize. My humor has become more refined over the years.

Remastered in 2023 for streaming platforms, it was an absolute joy revisiting this gem of a record to make it available to the public once again. I hope you have as many laughs listening to it as we had while making it.
